I purchased a bedroom set from artvan and was promised a “50in flat screen tv” and have yet to receive it. When I call they give the run around or transfer me to a voicemail where of course nobody returns the calls. They full of it. Then they sent a few emails that pretending to process the order then of course never sent it and when I try to reach the team who sent the email they have no contact info or anything. I’ll just make a trip to the store.

They called my kids animals.
Bought a chair from Art Van. My 45 lb daughter sat in the chair and the back broke off. Art Van tells me it's not a manufacturer defect and refuses to replace said chair. They then proceeded to tell me that if my kids weren't horseplaying, the chair wouldn't break. I asked the manager what she would do if it were her son. She said "I thought you said it was your daughter in the chair."My kids are a lot of things. They surely aren't heavy enough to exert enough force to break through "solid wood."

Bad Return Policy
I purchased a wooden bed frame (sleigh bed with draws under) that was sold to me as a twin size. I was happy with it, so I decided I would get twin size bed from Art Van. When the bed came a few days later, it was then that I noticed that the bed frame was an XL twin NOT a regular twin. Since 10 days had already past they did not want to return the furniture and give me the correct size frame! I told them I wouldn't mind an XL mattress...but they would not exchange that for me either. I purchased these items at separate Art Vans within a week apart. The employees were excellent to work with but at the end of the day the store *** up and did not want to correct their error. They called me back saying that the frame is supposed to be that way and that it is in fact the correct size...which I know is complete BS. I'm going to print that picture out and have the manager sign & write this is correct so I can send it in with my dispute paper work I'll be filling against Art Van.

Defective bed
i ordered a 600.00 bed frame not the bed just the frame king size appeared to be sturdy construction within the first few says the center support broke called service they sent someone out to put screws in it. 10 hours later broke again they came back out put longer screws in. same day broke again. i keep calling and they keep saying oh it must be defective... no its a piece of crap. i have had it 30 days and had it "serviced" twice its a bed frame not only that but a 600.00 bed frame (that was the sale price) it should have lasted more than 30 days. now i have to take yet another morning off work loose more of my pay to wait for Art van to come and "repair" my bed. i will not be purchasing ANYTHING else from Art Van again. I should stop payment on my credit card for this non sense

CUSTOM SOFA SET
I ordered the new Detroit Sofa Ambassador Sofa and apartment sized sofa and was told i would be able to pick the pillows from another collection. The sales person assured me he would be able to get me the pillows from the St Clair collection. $ weeks into my custom order i got a call saying the pillows would cost me 300.00 more. No way in *** did i just pay 3000.00 for sofas and now i have to pay 300.00 more for pillows. BS! i called and complained to the salesmen, to the manager and to the corporate office and no one seems to care. I should have told them to cancel the order but i thought they would make it right. I stopped doing business with Gardener White years ago because of no customer service looks like Art Van is next. I'll have to go to a real store like Gormans.

Recliner kept having issues
We first had an issue with our recliner 6 month after purchase. We called in April and it took 7 months for them to get us the parts which when they arrived we're not the right parts. So send us a new recliner. Six month later the new recliner wood at the back rest splinters. We called the corporate office and they sent out a repairman who takes pictures and says he's seen a lot of things go wrong with recliners but never where the wood has splintered like it had. Now they say our warranty is over and it would cost them too much to replace. So who gets screwed. The customer.

July 7, 2018 I never heard back from Art Van, not a phone call not a letter. Horrible company.
I can't say enough, Buyer Beware.
I will never shop this store again. I don't care if they are giving furniture away, the poor customer service is inexcusable!

My husband and I purchased a king Temper pedic mattress and bed from this store. Matt was our salesman. at the time of purchase Matt said the mattress was in stock but the bed frame will be in the end of May. It was already May 27 so Matt said to expect it that week. I looked at the receipt Matt just handed me and it said the frame was expected mid-June. Matt said don't worry the computer says end of May. I was stupid and believed him. We were contacted May 31 that our mattress was ready for delivery but the bed wouldn't be ready until Mid- June. I said we are up grading from a queen to a king so we need the bed frame and mattress delivered at the same time. I was advised to call my sales man. I called Matt and he said yes, your frame won't be ready until mid-June but we can make 2 deliveries. I said this isn't going to work we need one delivery date. Matt said he would contact his buying office and get back to me. June 5th I never heard from Matt. I emails go unanswered and phone calls aren't returned. I even tried to speak to the store manager Everett. No returned phone calls. Today I went to the store for a full refund of 4986.00. Boy is it hard for this store to refund my money. After 45 minutes and a manager trying to find something in stock I received my refund. Here is the big problem I have with Art Van. They charged my credit Card 4986.00 the day I made my purchase. But the bed frame wouldn't be available for 3-5 weeks. How about not charging for product until it's available. Tick Tock your warranty starts that day you purchase not the day delivered. GREAT NEWS! I went across the parking lot to Gardner White. Spoke with Brittney and my new EXACT Tempur Pedic ( yes exact, this is one of the only mattress companies that has the same mattress's no matter what retailers) and beautiful Cherry Wood bed are being delivered tomorrow, 483.42 cheaper then Art Van. It could have been delivered today except I had errands to run!

CUSTOM ORDER
We are on our THIRD attempt for Art Van to get ONE custom order chair correct. Granted it is a manufacturing issue, HOWEVRR the customer service, floor managet have been zero help. LAST CHANCE to get it correct, then we cancel the order and take our business someplace else.

Super bad experience, worst ever
We bought a mattress and it did not work for us. After a week we are trying to return the mattress and they say we have to wait to sleep on it for a month. Ridiculous. we have not been able to sleep on it for 5 days and the store manager just laugh at me cynically when he said "sorry we cant take it back". Very mean and bad service. They did not even ask if we wanted another mattress or go for a re-test, they just wont take the mattress back. It is really disappointing and frustrating, I cant understand what kind of policy is that you are expected to go for 30 days without sleep to test a mattress, totally unacceptable.

TERRIBLE BUSINESS
My husband and I purchased a mattress from the art van in Westland. The entire team was rude and completely unhelpful and unprofessional. Our mattress is causing us back pain and extreme discomfort. When we tried to express our concerns, the RUDE “customer service senior supervisor” told us there’s nothing they can do. Nothing. We haven’t even had the mattres for a year and are now faced with the burden of spending another fortune on a mattress from another company. We have purchased many items of furniture from their store and will now never purchase another item from them. I strongly discourage anyone from giving their business to this store. I would suggest buying online, as most mattresses online are half the price and they give you at least a year to return if you aren’t satisfied. I want to report this company to better business bureau for their lack of business ethics. They should be ashamed, but they obviously only care about their money.

Took delivery of furniture in june. Kroger gift card was good incentive to purchase from art van. The guys that delivered couldnt even assemble. I did it myself. No gift card, cant get an answer from anyone, but i sure do get all their sale emails. Get it together art van!!

Warranty issues with furniture, called in February of 2018 finally got a repair person to show up in March after several phone calls. When repair man showed up he stated that they would need to order parts because it appeared that the chair that I ordered that took 3 months to come in had been dropped. was then told that they would be back in May. Came back first of May and they had the wrong parts and said that they would have to reorder them and they would return in first of July to complete repair. message left on my answering machine and was told that the parts would not be in until September sometime. I called in and asked to get a store credit or my money back and was told that it was Art Van's vendors problem and that they would not do anything for me. I told them that I bought the furniture from Art Van and not there vendor but was again told tuff luck. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In June, we purchased a right facing sectional, delivery brought a left facing. We asked to have that returned l, after less than 6 months, our $1200 sofa cracked in the center, service rep stated no support leg had been added during set-up, we have since been delivered 2 replacement sofas, both of which had major damage prior to their arrival. Worst customer service I have ever received. No resolution that does not include US wasting more of OUR time. Art Van employees have been here 5 times, and I’m more unsatisfied than ever. Never would I spend even $1 with this company again.

Cheap furniture
They stand behind only their really expensive furniture and even then it’s built really cheaply. We bought some items that were in the clearance center that wasn’t really cheap price wise but was assured they were just stuff that hadn’t sold on the main floor. Brought it home and a couple weeks later the wood in the arm broke or was broken. We were not really sure how it was broken but went into the store and was told since it was a clearance item, that there is no warranty. Seeing that we were upset, the employee spoke to the manager and he/she said he was going to do us a courtesy and send some one out to look at it and repair it. When he got here he said he couldn’t repair it that we would have to bring it in and it would cost $70/hour and take about 3 to 4 hours to repair. More than we paid for an accent chair. Here’s the kicker the guy that came out didn’t remove staples but he used a knife and cut the fabric off to look up inside. Now I have to try and repair it because of the cost. Which is an easy repair but not now with the fabric cut. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM ART VAN AGAIN AND URGE ANY ONE ELSE TO WATCH WHAT YOU BUY OR NOT GO TO THEM. The smaller furniture store sell better quality and stand behend there stuff.

Me and my husband bought a bed and was supposed to get a gift card, but found out they charged us for the gift card. Claimed they did not charge us for it but it clearly shows on the invoice
the price of the gift card was taken off the price of the furniture. you didnt pay extra for the gift card
This is what happened to me and yes they do take it off the price of the furniture- but that just zeros out the original charge on your credit card. So you end up actually paying full price for your furniture and no gift card.
