Went in. Told the salesperson that i needed a wall hugger recliner. She assured me the one i ordered was. NOT! Called back to talk to salesperson. He assured me that the electronic version of recliner was a wall hugger. He agreed to wave the 15% restocking fee. Wasnt that nice. Second sales person took it upon himself to add a nearly 100 dollar warranty that i knew nothing about. Called today because i was supposed to switch today. Surprise! No order. And art van management was so very helpful. Not!!! Now i am stuck with a chair that does not fit in my living room. And if i want to return it not only do i have to pay someone to move it for me, again. But, if i dont purchase another chair from them they are charging me a 15% restocking fee. That sounds fair. Lie to me to get a sale. And then when i figure it out myself. Charge me a fee to return something they knew wouldnt work for me. Excellent business practice. Art van probably needs that money way more than i do!!!!!

Your web site does not give the ability to email a concern to corporate , I can only assume this is by design. I came in to the Mt. Pleasant store in October and paid cash for a dining room set as well as a recliner sofa. The delivery was delayed for three weeks awaiting the items to come in. When finally delivered November 26th the table top was damaged , the delivery team was very professional and called the store assuring me the new table top would be delivered the following Saturday. On the following Friday December 2nd I called the store as I had not received the confirmation call of delivery. The representative apologized and stated the table top was never re-ordered , he offered a $50 in store credit and guaranteed the table top would be delivered today December 10th. I received the confirmation call yesterday , scheduled a day away from activity to ensure I was home (I live alone) and was called this morning to find the table top was damaged again. At this point I am wondering if the table top was ever even re-ordered the second time. If this is the quality of furniture you carry then I must wonder if I should have ever shopped there to begin with. I am left wondering if the recliner sofa will last given my experience as well. Art Van Furniture Manager Review

We purchased leather furniture from Art Van in 2016. We would like to thank the Novi, Michigan store manager, Nathan, for helping us. We explained our issues to Nathan and we were issued a full refund. The furniture was picked up the next week. As a result, we will continue to shop at Art Van since they take good care of their customers when there are issues with furniture.

Pure Sleep Mattress Review

Bought an expensive Pre Sleep mattress. After just three years, it's so lumpy it hurts my back every night - and I've never had back issues. Art Van says warranty is void due to manufacturer's terms. I said I'd never buy from them again if they didn't remedy & they said OK. Back to department store mattresses that cost 1/3 the price and last 2x longer!

Well went to the art van store in Westland, brought bedroom set for 3000.00 dollars complete set with in that week art van gave a up to 80% off on all furniture in the store. Call the store my Wellman busy with customer in the store will call you back. As soon his is free it took me of two to three days of calling back trying to my sale person. Finally talk to one of the rep there who inform me in order to get the 80% off must pay cash for the item to get the 80% off on items in the store. Two days later my sale rep call said that someone did not the bedroom set as being sold, and that we will not get it until January after Christmas.my question is the store going to give us something off for the mistake. He will have to check with the store manger. Next day he found the bed and other items except for the dresser morrow. For the mix-up fifty dollar gift card to be use in the store. I am still not sure if they found the morrow or not yet.

Art Van Furniture - Customer Care Review

Fort wayne IN, literally spent thursaday thru sunday at three hours each selecting out the correct pieces for my new house. Finally sunday we wrote up the invoices and sign the lease offered to us through Progressive, to find out that the lease program was explained to us wrong and the payments were way beyond anything we could afford. The Progressive rep and the sales associate were rude one even turn their back to us and just didnt say anything. Neither apologized or offered options, they in fact made me feel that it was my fault and made me feel ***, so we left. I will never step foot in that store again becuase of the feeling that that made me feel *** and awkward.

Art Van Misrepresented the product

I was told that my TV stand came assembled, but when I arrived at the warehouse to pick it up, it was in a flat pack box. Build it yourself? I bought something on Overstock.com instead. Yes, I have to assemble it, but I saved $300. If we had known that the piece required either the $99 delivery plus assembly fee, or that we would have to build it ourselves, we could have saved the 1/2 hour drive to the warehouse in Warren, MI. Art Van should give the salespeople better information!!!! My salesperson even checked to see how much assembly at home the piece required, and was assured that it would be minor - like screwing on the door handles, and putting in the adjustable shelves.

On our second 800 series king mattress, first under warranty in less than a year , broke down! Second one , 1 1/2 year , same thing! Over priced gimmic!! Don't waste your money!!!

Broken lift chair!

We purchased a lift chair in late June 2016, by the end of October 2016 (4 months later) the back was broken. I called and asked to exchange it, but was told I could only return it within 7 days of purchase. It didn't appear broken in the first week, why would we have returned it? They did send a man out to assess the chair. He wrote a report and left without even giving me a copy of it. I had to call the store again after 3 days to find out what they were going to do about it. They claimed we broke it and told us we had to pay them approximately $500 to get it fixed! But the chair is only 4 months old! And how do they know someone didn't break it before we got it and we didn't realize it until we'd used it a while? We have bought much our furniture from them in the past, but we won't ever buy from them again! The customer service employees on the phone had a "take it or leave it" attitude. This doesn't speak well of the company. Once they have your money they don't care if your happy or not. And, don't stand behind their products. So much for ethics and good business practices!

Resolved: Art Van Furniture - Delivery Service Review from Hastings, Michigan

My wife and I purchase furniture in your Lakeside location on Sept 21st. We were told that we needed to provide a copy of our lease to schedule delivery. We explained to them that we were not able to sign out lease until this week and that we had a scheduled delivery of our daughter on Sept 26th. We gave them our new address and explained to them that we would have the lease to them by the end of this week. We explained we absolutely need the furniture on Oct 1st and were promised that would be no problem. We returned home from the hospital yesterday with our new born and went and signed our lease after (I realize that's allot going on in one week but it is what it is, oh and I'm starting a new position on the 3rd). We sent our signed lease over this morning and just now we received a phone call from Art Van explaining they would not be able to delivery on Saturday. So, my wife, who just delivered our daughter (C section) will not have the furniture we were promised on the day we were promised it. I do not expect anything more than I payed for and have been promised! This is completely unacceptable and because of everything going on we can't even cancel the order and go with someone else. So, I guess my wife will be sitting on camping chairs until our furniture arrives. Art Van will NEVER get my business again!

Purchased a dresser for my daughter, following pick up and unpackaging, found that the side of the dresser was damaged. Contacted Mishawaka, IN store, spoke with Sales Manager and was told that, since it was a pick up, the item could be replaced but I would be responsible for the transportation of the item. The option of delivery was given, but of coarse, at my expense! Art Van makes no effort in "service recovery", nor do they seem to work toward customer satisfaction. I will not make any future purchases from Art Van and I will strongly discourage others from doing so as well.

Next time pay for delivery, that way if something is damaged, they will take responsibility. When you choose to pick your items up to cut cost, you run the risk of that happening.

Can you prove that the damage occurred PRIOR to you picking it up? Probably not. Maybe it happened while trying to get it through your door. People damage their furniture quite often while trying to transport it themselves and want the company to take responsibility for your choice to not have it delivered.

Pay for delivery and they will replace it via delivery.

Pick it up yourself and you are responsible.

we bough a bunch of things from art van furniture and some of the didn't even have enough pieces to be completed or were damaged,the men told us to not worry and that they would come back in a week .They took months to come back after we begged them to.When they did come they said that they don't know what we were talking about and left.Now I'm stuck with a bunch of pieces that I don't know what to do with.Even after calling several times they would say that they don't know what we were talking about.I do NOT recommend this store for ANYONE.

10-24-2016 Art Van advertised "Once A Year One Day Sale-Final Day!" Up to 65% Store wide Plus up to an EXTRA 25% OFF Plus 0% for 18 Months. My husband and I drove to the 14 mile Art Van store after doing our research and looking up the price of some additional chairs for our dinning set we bought in 2014. The on-line price did not state their was already "Up to 25% marked off" the chairs we wanted to purchase ($139.00). In the store the $139.00 price advertised on the chair DID NOT STATE IT WAS ALREADY MARKED down to any %. Our salesman couldn't answer our questions, but agreed it was false advertisement, so he brought over "Terell" the manager who stated we should know that Art Van price is the "real" price and the price marked on the chair already had a % taken off. I questioned why the on line chair price did not reflect ANY % off either and he told me to contact E-commerce. I have bought thousands of dollars worth of furniture over the past 20 years from Art Van and have had good experiences, today I walked out (with no chairs) an extremely disrespected, undervalued customer.

Very disappointed in Art Van. We bought two dressers and the finish has come off stuck to books. Balls have left an impression on the finish. You should be able to set items on a dresser without this happening. Rep that was sent out was extremely rude. We will not be going back to Art Van. A lot of money spent for very poor quality.

Mattress and foundation sets..

We purchased 2 mattress sets from Art Van in Shelby Twp and bought their "Total satisfaction policy" for the sum of$149.99 for each set..At the time of purchase we were told if we didn't have any problems with them in 60 days that the $299.98 would be returned to us..I have called 3 times and went to the store 2 times to see the salesman, who turn"s out to be the manager of that department, am told he isn't in today but will be in all the next day, which he never shows up, to get my money back and the service department people tell me they don't refund it in cash but they give it back in the form of an in store purchase..At no time during these purchases were we told that our refund would be anything but cash...

We are having the same issue! We were told we would get the 149.99 back but no knew ever bothrrred to say in the form of in store credit!

They made me speak to the sales lady that sold us the mattress and she wouldn't even let me speak. She just kept saying no, nope, no I didn't.

Not only is it in the form of in store credit but it also expires in 8 weeks! What a scam!

That is correct. They will send you an in store credit.

I'm sure the salesperson failed to mention that. That happened a lot when I worked for them.
