Warranty scam

Art Van makes me sick closing up and I have a warranty for a bed that I paid 3000 dollars. I am not happy and every customer paying a debt or paid for a warranty should get a refund and keep the warranty

I paid for quality custom made furniture which was delivered to me defective but unbeknownst to me within the time frame of the seven days allowed to report it. Nonetheless I did report it shortly after that I discovered/noticed the defect, and I am having to go through changes in order to get the problem corrected. I am a new customer at Art Van, and I am very dissatisfied with the way I am being handled regarding this issue. My sofa has two different arms, the left side arm does not match, or look like the right side arm, and it is very noticeable. A service technician came out to my home to address the left side arm, or the defective arm, but it did not help the defect at all. My furniture is very beautiful furniture but it arrived to me defective and I paid for custom made furniture, please assist me with this matter, your kindness, consideration and support would be greatly appreciated. Frustrated and angered customer

My husband and I purchased a conversational table along with 2 bench’s and 2 stools right around Christmas 2018. We purchased it right at closing. It was a set that when I saw it knew that it would fit our families needs and my husband agreed! We were told that the set is in back order, could take anywhere from January to even March 2019 to arrive. By Feb 28th or March 1, 2019, when I didn’t hear any news from artvan, I called to see if the set arrived. They checked and said it was ready for shipping. The earliest available was Tuesday, March 5,2019. I requested that the shipping time be in the morning or before 2pm. My husband and I have children in school at a charter in canton and also at EMU. Monday - Friday, my pickup time for them is 2:30pm-6:00 pm. So I knew I could not have anything scheduled within that time. The rep on the day I called said they would try to accommodate. Sunday, March 3, I recieved a call from ArtVan saying the set came in and scheduled time of 8-12pm. I was out to lunch with my husband when she called, with a waiter waiting for me to place my order. She told Me that Artvan would call to confirm the time on Monday. Imagine my frustration and anger when I find out that the delivery time was set for 2:15-5:15 pm when the automated call came in on Monday. I called the store, in Westland, spoke with 3 different people. The first 2 stating, hold on line to see what was going on. By the 3rd person, I was told that she was a manager. An error was created and that they cannot do anything about delivery. I must have misunderstood, because it was just a request I made. I asked her then why did the rep call me on Sunday stating it would arrive between 8-12. She said, “did she really say that? I interrupted her and said who called who... you guys called me on Sunday not the other way around. If u need proof, I’ll ask my husband and the waiter who was taking our order for lunch to prove that she called. I apologize for inconvenience but can’t do anything about. The rep made an error, she’s new and will talk to her. I said it goes not help me with anything! I already paid for the set... didn’t finance... waited around 3 months just To get this set.. don’t u guys take care of the customers who placed an order and waited so long? Manager said she understands my frustration... I interrupted and said no she did not. Based on the rep comment and delivery for Tuesday I threw away my old table... where would my kids eat? Sitting on the floor? She said to give her another day I am free. She is waiving delivery fee of $59 something almost $60.00. I said I can’t change my kids school pickup time. She said we do Saturday delivery because she cannot guarantee a delivery time only request it. I asked if they had later times in evening. She said artvan delivers even til 8 pm on some days. Depends region but again only can place a request. I don’t have someone over 18 who can come between 2-6 pm, when I pickup kids from school. They are all at work within that time frame. So I had to set a time for Saturday. I had no other option. I am extremely frustrated with the managers insensitivity. She cannot understand, because I do not believe she has 6 kids. She doesn’t have to see them standing or sitting on the floor to eat. Also, she could have placed my times available (8-2 pm) and (6-8pm) for delivery. All she said she could and would do was take off delivery fee. I called my husband at work, told him what happened and he got upset also! He said that he would take time off from work if that was the case only to have the set delivered. I said, you call cause I was soo angry. He did call, was told he could not change scheduled time for Saturday because I said I was not available, Monday- Friday ( basically at any time) so had to keep it for Saturday. My husband got really mad. Called Me and said, I am willing to taking time off of work to get this set delivered and they will not allow us to change the date for an earlier delivery. What kind of service do u provide?! My husband was willing to Make this effort but because of comments posted in your system from a interesting manAger we cannot change delivery time! Seriously!! I will think 10xs before purchasing anything from artvan again, especially from the Westland location! We have purchased merchandise from arrvan before and only had good service, but this... stinks!! If you were in my shoes... would you be happy?!

Extremely rude "manager".

By far the worst experience I have ever had at a store. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My husband and I were shopping for some furniture for our new home over the weekend and had a very personable salesman that helped us out the entire time we looked around and answered all of our questions. Very professional and knowledgeable. We decided to talk some numbers on the pricing and told the salesman we would think about everything and reach out to him in a couple of days. When we came back, we changed our minds on the furniture and decided to go with something else. Once again, we started talking about pricing. Some gentleman, by the name of Adam, came up to us while we were speaking with the salesman, and said "today I don't want to hear the word 'price' from you guys," and walked away. We all laughed, figuring he was making a joke from us negotiating the prices on the other furniture from the other day. He comes back a couple of minutes later when the salesman was giving us the price and my husband asked, "Is this the best you can do?" a question that EVERYBODY would ask before pulling the plug on 5k worth of furniture. This so called "big shot" Adam, jumped right in and said "No this is the best price you're going to get and if you don't like it, you can go buy this furniture somewhere else. You got a great deal the other day on the other furniture and you didn't buy it so that's your fault. I will be glad if you go somewhere else and buy this furniture. It won't hurt us because you are getting this at a low cost and we're losing money here." We were appalled. At first we thought he was simply joking around once again, but he started turning purple as he was getting loud with us and we realized he was being serious. Pretty much told us screw you we don't want your business and walked away. We were all in shock. I didn't even have a chance to react as I was trying to put together what just happened. The man was so disrespectful. I started to get my things together to leave and the salesman started apologizing on his behalf and was extremely embarrassed. He said that's his boss and all he can do is apologize. I was extremely upset and would never purchase from this place had the salesman not been sincere with us this entire time and worked with us for a couple of days. We wanted to give the credit where it was due. But as far as this Adam gentleman goes, he was extremely rude and was so aggressive with his words towards us, we couldn't believe it. I have received better customer service at Walmart than from this so called manager. He should be dealt with for his behavior like this towards customers because if that's how he is with everyone, then he will be bad for business. Never shopping with Art Van again. Bad Customer Sevice

I order a couch and a loveseat in the beginning of March didn’t even have it 3 weeks I call art vans customer service To explain my problem with my loveseat and how it needs to be fixed and I was told there is nothing they can do about it I even ask to Speak to the manager about my issue which the manager got on the phone and continue to tell me how there was nothing they can do about it even though I only had the furniture for three weeks I will never order furniture from there again poor customer service for quality and furniture

they dont honor their advertising, always soem excuse,i went there and spent $ almost $2700.00 was suppose to get a 50" tv for free if you spend $1500,00 or more, i did that,then they said their was stipulations which they never did tell me.i ened up spending all that money i furniture i would have bought later a little at a time if id known wasnt gonna get tv.she told me on phone ya you will get tv if spend that amount,then the hour we shopped i kept asking about tv, ya you will get,got me up to desk when done shopping ,i was approved,she wanted to get paper work signed,i signed dummy that i was.she said you will get a $ 250.00 coupon in two weeks to buy a tv.i was so shocked when i left,the more i thought about it the madder i got,i went in debt for $2700.oo still no tv which i needed,needless to say,they delivered my furniture when i wasnt home,i had called the morning of delivery and gave my cell phone # because i was at work.i was gonna send it back.never got a call they just came and delivered it.needless to say im gonna call on monday and i talked to a lwayer,i will get my tv one way or another.i will call lawyer and better business bureau,i heard they did this to other people and got caught by the customer they screwed and they paid them off not to talk'never shop there again

Pick up-or lack there of.

We purchased three mattress on Saturday for our new house. We were told we could pick two of them up Sunday and the other one would be ready on Monday. We kept our moving truck an extra day, spent extra time, money and put mileage on the truck to pick up the mattresses Sunday and Monday, to get there on Monday, and after waiting almost an hour, they told us they didn’t have it and that it would have to be shipped. This is were I buy all of my furniture, but I may have to rethink that, as this is not the first time we have had trouble with pick up, except this time my toddler doesn’t have a bed for half a week.

Terrible

I received my sectional 3days before thanksgiving. The 2nd day of me having my sectional in my home I noticed thread coming lose in two different pieces, and the console had an tare in it on the side. I called art van the same day, they sent someone one out to repair the thread and he did a terrible job. So I called the store and ask them if they could replace the whole sectional,it's 7 pic . They told me no , cooperate denied my request also, but they did say the would switch out the 3pices. Me and my husband is very displeased, now we are worried about the thread coming lose on other parts of the sectional. Not to mention we are still waiting on a piece of the sectional. And now we have to wait even longer wait for the 3 pieces there replacing because cooperate told there none in stock . We will never shop at art van again . They lost a customer. Thinking about calling fox 2 news. Buyers be ware plse.

Awful

I want to begin with the fact that I've only purchased furniture through art van ever. Even growing up as a child, my parents took us to art van. I went into the store on Linden and Miller rd a couple of days ago. Usually if we tell the staff we're just looking and will let them know when we need help they will politely walk away and let us do our looking. Not this time. The lady who helped us treated us like thieves. She followed us down aisles and then went to her manager Dustin and he approached us and demanded our names like we were common criminals. It was the most horrible experience I've ever had. I will not ever go back. Because of this we googled furniture stores near by and found Godwin. The customer service there was amazing and we ended up buying more than expected spending $2000. They will now be our go to place to fill our newly purchased home. Good bye art van. It was a good 30 years of business ruined.

We purchased leather furniture from Art Van in 2016. We would like to thank the Novi, Michigan store manager, Nathan, for helping us. We explained our issues to Nathan and we were issued a full refund. The furniture was picked up the next week. As a result, we will continue to shop at Art Van since they take good care of their customers when there are issues with furniture.

We purchased yesterday in your Chesterfeild Michigan store and spent a lot on furniture for our family room. Sam the sales gentleman was fine during purchase we paid for our purchase and did not finance.

We also got warranty on our furniture. The wait for delivery was to long so made multiple trips to picknit up. First frustration compared to the competition. We get the three pieces home, unpack one by one the last piece was a recliner chair.

It has a major defect in the fabric. We called talked to manager who said he would exchange... that's fine but is making us repack this chair drive the chair back and then have to get the new chair up the stairs of our home again. He became annoyed when I questioned why it could not be delivered as it was the stores fault for delivering a faulty item.

I told him we were not happy to have to do all this because of an issue that is not our fault. He became loud and unprofessional. My husband called back and spoke with our sals guy and said we bought a warranty and was told the store would come out and fix issues with he product but not this problem.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS STORE. The product and service are not worth it.

Actually, your warranty doesn't cover them coming out and replacing it. Your warranty is a service and repair warranty.

Shipping is not covered under any warranty. The manager "agreed" because you were being a pain in the ***.

If you picked the item up yourself and did not pay for their delivery service, they are under no obligation to transport the new one to you. Delivery is a service they offer, at a charge.

If you were to purchase a furniture item at Target, Walmart, or Meijer and discovered a defect after getting it home, you would have to do the same thing (Pack it up and bring it back). They are no different. Delivery is a service they offer at a charge. You can take it or leave it.

You should always inspect your product before taking it.

If you had paid for delivery, they would have came back and exchanged it.

We were given a boxed item that was loaded into our vehicle. The item should be examined before sale by company to a consumer.

We also purchased a warranty. We were told by store the warranty covered all issues with the chair and we were told the company would send someone to our home and fix the product as many times as needed for the year. So even though we did not pay delivery we paid for a product that was sold defective and we also purchased a warranty that we were told they would come to our home and resolve. As a customer I would expect to get a product in perfect condition and also a warranty that is useful.

It was also a lot to do with how I was spoke. To by the manager when voicing my concerns.

I should be able to purchase a chair brand new in box and not have to worry about it having a major flaw. A company should make it right and not speak poorly to a customer upon voicing this complaint.

I'm not saying they shouldn't correct the problem, which it sounds like they were doing by offering you a new chair. I'm saying it isn't their responsibility to deliver it to you.

You chose to pick it up, probably to save on cost which is fine, but you assume responsibility when you do that. If I were picking a furniture item up in a box, I would definitely ask to have it opened so I can inspect it first, just like I did with the television I purchased at Best buy.

Not only did I have them open it, I had them plug it in to make sure it worked.

Actually we choose to pick up because there was no delivery in the near future nor because of costs. Second we bought a warranty package that should have covered them coming out and replacing the chair.

As many times in the year we needed.

We have since talked to the store manager who confirmed and agreed with us. He did make it right and in turn we are very satisfied.

Also would like to point out I did buy furniture from target... table set.

Got it home and there was a chunk out of the wood.

I called the store to see what my options were the manager at target in Chesterfeild offered a new product to be delivered for free for the trouble. So that is customer service at its best.
